| Sr.
Pintos Restaurant and Bar first opened its doors on March 2,
1994.
The founder,
Stephen Burns and his wife, Maria
with his extensive hotel and restaurant experience in Mexico
since 1988, saw a need for a family style restaurant that could
meet the needs of the rapidly changing lifestyle of Zihuatanejo's
new families and
the upwardly mobile
young professionals. The restaurant was designed to blend in
with the community's historical cultural identity and
traditions. |

Zihuatanejo
was coming into its own! Zihuatanejo was rapidly becoming a trade
center with a new road network, a growing residential infrastructure
and commercial centers. The town was attracting young professionals,
small businesses and a growing work force. This was reducing the area's
dependence on agriculture, commercial fishing and tourism. At the
same time, Zihuatanejo was able to maintain its character and environment
while adjecent to Ixtapa a center of tourism. The two communities
compliment each other by having distinctly different cultural characteristics.
Zihuatanejo is the local center of government a "county seat"
and provides a glimpse of today's real Mexico and it's remarkable
development and social interworkings.
Sr.
Pintos has not only witnessed the dynamics of this progress, but has
been a part of it! We have expanded three times. The restaurant has
become somewhat of a community center, providing facilities for meetings
of political groups, unions, teachers, law enforcement groups, professional
associations, family events and social gatherings of every description.
We are fortunate to be part of the local community and appreciate
the local support. |

Through
the years, Sr. Pintos has become a gathering point for our ex-pat
community that has absorbed itself into the community and they
consider our local clients their best neighbors and friends.
Whether you are a newcomer or a tourist planning on visiting
our community, we think that you might consider us a "must
stop ." You will be warmly received by all, treated as
an immediate member of our community. Beyond a doubt, you will
have some of the best food you have ever enjoyed! I am sure
that one of our guests will offer you a fine tequila and invite
you to sing along.
